  1. Is the request for Vote By Mail ballot request information public information? Answer: Vote By Mail ballot request information (any information deemed necessary to process Vote BY mail ballot requests including email addresses) is confidential and exempt under FS 101.62(3). EXCEPTION: certain statutorily list persons are entitled to access Vote By Mail ballot information, for political purposes only: the voter requesting the ballot, a canvassing board, an election official, a political party or official thereof, a candidate who had filed qualification papers and is opposed in an upcoming election and registered political committees.   2. Is a voter registration application public information? Answer: FS 97.0585. if a voter is requesting a copy of their own voter registration application, you must first redact all applicable information prior to providing to the voter. Generally, voter registration applications are allowed to be copied, but certain information such as social security number, driver's license number, Florida identification number, and signatures must be redacted prior to inspection and/or copying. Signature of the voter may be inspected but NOT copied.
  3. Completely exempt from inspection and/or copying: A) Any information relating to the place where a person registered to vote or updated a voter registration. B) Any declinations to register to vote. C) Absolutely NO information is provided for a citizen registered in the Address Confidentiality Program. D) If a voter has filed a Public Records Exemption Request for themself, or on their behalf (spouse or children).
